Grasmere Hostel & Broadrayne Farm

Grasmere Hostel is a 24 bed, 4 star hostel situated on Broadrayne Farm in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Broadrayne Farm is a traditional 17th century Lakeland Farm with a small cluster of former farm buildings around a picturesque farmyard. Within the Farm there are three separate 4 star self-catering holiday cottages, all sympathetically converted from the original farm buildings. The hostel and farm are surrounded by some of Britain’s finest scenery and the famous Coast to Coast route passes through the site.

A 100kW Guntamatic Powerchip biomass boiler burning local woodchip, supplied by Lakes Biomass, provides space heating to multiple detached buildings. The boiler is located in a detached purpose built plant room clad in larch. District heating pipes then connect the principal buildings. Grasmere Hostel and Broadrayne Farm are commercial entities and can therefore claim the Non-Domestic RHI.
