Biomass Boilers

What is Biomass?

Biomass is a sustainable fuel that can deliver both significant financial benefits and a considerable reduction in net carbon emissions when compared with fossil fuels. Biomass heating systems burn wood in the form of pellets, chips or logs to provide a property with hot water or heating. Applications of biomass range from large-scale industrial boilers down to individual domestic ones.

Biomass boilers are now being installed in many businesses and homes as they are easy to install and easy to operate. Biomass is an obvious choice when replacing or upgrading a gas or oil boiler and can be connected to virtually any existing heating system.

With the Introduction of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), installing a biomass boiler has never made more sense. Tariff based payments are made per kilowatt of heat generated with returns on investment for the non-domestic RHI at around 20% per annum over the 20 years of the scheme.
