Open day to shed light on renewables

On Tuesday 16th June, we are hosting a ‘Renewables Explained’ open day, providing attendees with the information required to help them make the switch to a cost effective alternative to fossil fuels.

The free-to-attend event, at Mainsgill Farm will be run in conjunction with experts from energy solution providers, Zeco Energy and asset finance specialists, Lombard.

Aimed at homeowners and businesses who are contemplating installing green technologies, the ‘Renewables Explained’ event will mostly focus on the most popular technologies of biomass and solar PV. Presentations will include information on different renewable technologies, financial incentives offered by the Government, project funding options and the impact of upcoming energy legislation changes on businesses. There will also be a tour of Mainsgill Farm’s fully-functioning biomass installation with the opportunity to quiz both the installer and those who operate the boiler on a daily basis.

Mark Duncan, joint Managing Director of Duncan Renewables noted:

“There is a clear desire amongst most people and businesses to adopt renewable technologies, but, more often than not, uncertainty about key principles such as technologies, financial returns and availability of finance leads people and businesses to defer projects. Customers really value facts corroborated by real world examples from credible experts. By organising events, such as the one at Mainsgill Farm, we aim to create an informal environment in which customers can ask questions, obtain the facts and see a system in operation.”

The host venue, Mainsgill Farm is situated four miles west of Scotch Corner and has been at the forefront of the farm shop revolution for over 15 years. In November 2014, as part of a major expansion, Duncan Renewables installed a 199kW Guntamatic Pro boiler capable of burning either wood pellets or wood chip. The installation replaces the previous oil system and provides all the heat and hot water requirements for the Mainsgill Farm operations. By switching to renewable energy, Mainsgill Farm can expect to achieve an estimated net fuel saving of £525,720 over 20 years with a payback period of only 6 years. By burning wood chip sourced from surrounding woodland estates, Mainsgill Farm are saving approximately 95.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide and significantly reducing the carbon footprint of their business.

Duncan Renewables is one of the UK’s leading suppliers and installers of renewable technologies to both commercial and domestic users. With over 25 years of experience in installing and servicing plumbing and heating systems and 15 years in installing renewable energy systems, attendees are guaranteed to receive one-to-one expert advice on how to make the most out of the opportunities available in renewable energy.
